Payroll Administrator

Under the direct supervision of the Sr. Payroll Manager, incumbent will manage all processes, systems, and production efforts related to Corporate Payroll for approximately 5,000 employees across Canada. Responsible for receiving, inputting and processing payroll data into a computerized payroll system with procedures, policies and timelines clearly specified.

Incumbent will handle employee and department requests for information; Produce standard forms and reports; resolves information for input errors and provides correction solutions to management for review.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains knowledge of various local and federal legislation regarding Payroll
  • Accurately inputs payroll data on a complete and timely basis to meet company deadlines
  • Schedules and apply statutory and company deductions
  • Reviews and monitors Payroll summaries for data integrity, accuracy and completeness
  • Produces various reports from Payroll system as requested
  • Maintains and updates Payroll database
  • Analyzes and resolves Payroll problems and correct errors as determined
  • Ensures proper documentation and authorization have been provided for payroll changes
  • Responds to inquiries from employees, government agencies and Department personnel
  • Reconciles third party remittances and Payroll accounts
  • Provides correspondence to government agencies as requested
  • Processes Year End transactions including reconciliations, and Tax summaries
  • Assist with preparation and distribution of T4’s, T4A’s, T2200 and Automobile Taxable Benefit

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-3 years of Payroll process experience (PeopleSoft and ADP WFN experience preferred)
  • Experience with integrated payroll systems
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
  • Keyboarding skills; Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
  • Solid knowledge of multi-provincial Payroll legislation
  • Competent knowledge of Payroll practices (Min. Experience of 1 year)
  • Working towards or completed the PCP or CPM designation from the Canadian Payroll Association
