The TOC Tooling Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining tools and applications that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our Technology Operations Center. This role requires a blend of software development skills, system administration knowledge, and an understanding of IT operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in automation, scripting, and the development of monitoring and alerting tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Tool Development: Design and develop tools and applications to support TOC functions, including monitoring, alerting, reporting, and automation.
- Integration: Integrate various systems and platforms to ensure seamless operations and data flow within the TOC.
- Automation: Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Monitoring and Alerting: Develop and enhance monitoring solutions to ensure the health and performance of IT infrastructure and applications.
- Collaboration: Work closely with TOC analysts, system administrators, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of tools, scripts, and processes.
- Support: Provide ongoing support and maintenance for developed tools, including troubleshooting and resolving issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend innovative solutions to enhance TOC operations.
Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience:
o Proven experience in software development, scripting, and automation.
o Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana).
o Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or similar.
o Strong knowledge of automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
o Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).
o Experience with API integration and development.
