Career @ Concentrix

Meet Cindy, former Director of Global Communications. Having retired in January of 2023, she was with Concentrix for 18+ years, so she knows a thing or two about our history, and, more often than not, she’s been a huge part of it!
Cindy can tell you about a time when Concentrix was considered a small company of only 200-300 people. (#BabyConcentrix.) We were already in the business of making big moves, both as an organization and when it came to our people’s careers. And even back then, we knew we wanted to be a big-dreaming, loads-of-potential, opportunities-galore kind of place. One that cheers you on and gives you two enthusiastic thumbs up to move forward.

In 2004, Cindy started her career at Concentrix as an Account Director working with a trailblazing new technology at the time: the iGen. This high-volume digital printing press was one of the first devices of its kind to offer high-speed, flawless printing for full-color documents in a variety of sizes and customizations, and Concentrix was one of the earliest production facilities in the world to put this groundbreaking new tech to use. As a fledgling company, this majorly stepped up our lead generation game and added some very sophisticated direct mail communications to our capabilities. This was at a time when large-scale email campaigns were just a gleam in a marketer’s eye.
Our trajectory changed in a big way when SYNNEX acquired Concentrix in 2006, opening up a lot of opportunities. We were still a scrappy organization, so our staff had to wear a few different hats, Cindy included. Though her role at the time was Account Director, she came to the company with a background in marketing, so she began to do some of that work out of neccessity. A roll-up-your-sleeves and do-what-needs-to-be-done attitude was a part of the culture then, and it’s still a huge part of who we are today.
That approach? It worked pretty well for her. In 2012, we had our collective sights set on the purchase of IBM’s worldwide customer care services business. Because of her keen eye for detail and agile spirit, Cindy was one of a few people we tapped to help in the integration of the two businesses. This acquisition would become a game changer, launching both Concentrix and Cindy’s career into a new and bigger era.
“It was like the minnow swallowing the whale,” said Cindy. “That was the biggest project I'd worked on in my career at that point. We came roaring into the news as this little upstart company that bought this huge division of IBM. Our CEO promised we would have them fully integrated within a year and no one believed that was possible. We pulled it off. And that was an incredible feeling.”
Cindy saw tons of new developments at every point in her epic career. Like in 2018, when Concentrix acquired mega competitor Convergys, doubling the size of the company and internal community overnight. Or how our Internal Communications have evolved from one language to now supporting 17 different languages around the world. Today, we even have a dozen different resources and activities at our collective fingertips with the Concentrix One staff app. But if you ask Cindy, she’s most proud of our company’s response to COVID-19.
“Concentrix sent everybody home, and we still had to communicate a lot of really important things,” said Cindy. “Their peers and their colleagues and their leadership went from in-office to being isolated at home. So, you had to care for people's mental health as well as their physical health. We tried to be upbeat and encouraging and make sure that everybody understood we were going to be okay and that we were there for them.”
That says a lot about Cindy. She’s been in the driver’s seat for some of the most industry-shifting, headline-making innovations at Concentrix, but her stand-out moment is all about taking care of people. (Cue the warm fuzzy feeling.)
Over the past few years, as Cindy evolved her role, that focus never waned. She became the cornerstone of Global Communications at Concentrix, growing her career and the careers of many others along the way. Her natural talent for tackling complex challenges quickly led to her rise as the go-to person — both for Concentrix staff communications and for driving external communications on behalf of the organization. Everyone who has joined Concentrix over the years has been affected by Cindy and her team’s work in some way. And as her leadership role grew, she impacted more and more staff at all levels and always brought positivity with her.

As for Concentrix, you might be thinking that all the CX-innovating, market-growing, milestone-reaching, brass-ring-grabbing is done. After all, today we’re a global company of 290k+ people. In 40+ countries. Powering the digital experiences of the world’s best brands (#humblebrag). But there’s ALWAYS another opportunity to get in on the ground floor of something amazing.
“We're getting ready to launch a new communications hub that's going to be a central place for everybody to get their information and news — everything from what's changing in the business and what's happening at the corporate level to regional and country-specific content. So, we're evolving our approach to keeping our people informed,” said Cindy.

Innovations like these, and the connections they help us form with other people, are the kinds of things that Cindy will miss as she reflects back on her long and storied career.
“I couldn't have possibly imagined where we would have ended up,” reflected Cindy. “I couldn't have imagined I was going to be here for 18 years. It has just been an amazing journey. I'm proud to have been part of all of it. And I’m excited for new people with fresh ideas and lots of energy to jump in — I'm excited to see where things are going to go.”
That’s the thing about Concentrix. It’s always been possibilities packed. As far as Cindy’s future? She has quite a few things on her retirement bucket list — which is about a mile long and includes spending more time on her hobbies, visiting family and friends, and even getting a dog.
“Travel is at the top,” said Cindy. “There are so many people whom I care so deeply about here, and I have never met them in person. So that's on my bucket list — actually visiting some of my team members.”

That may be surprising, but there’s something truly special about the relationships we build at Concentrix. Business updates evolve into family updates. And work friends become lifelong best friends.
“We’ve worked so closely together. All of us share little parts of ourselves, and we're all different,” said Cindy. “We’re all passionate about what we do, and we care about each other. We’ve managed to gather a group of people who are there for each other. I'm going to miss that community and feeling like we're all pulling together for the same thing.”
That feeling of personal growth, especially when it comes to building lasting connections with others, is baked into our culture at Concentrix. So, as Cindy heads off into this next phase of life, we have to give her a massive shout-out for choosing to build her career here and helping so many people grow. We will miss you, and we can’t wait to see all you accomplish in your retirement. Rest assured, we’re all still pulling together for the same thing — you!
