Role Overview
The Vice President of Financial Systems is responsible for overseeing the financial systems and technology that support the organization’s financial operations. This role involves strategic planning, implementation, and management of financial software and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of financial systems strategies that align with the organization’s goals.
- Develop and implement technical automation to improve efficiency and accuracy of the financial processes.
- Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of financial software and tools.
- Ensure the integrity and security of financial data across all systems.
- Collaborate with IT and finance teams to integrate financial systems with other business applications.
- Lead the financial systems team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective operations.
- Monitor industry trends and advancements in financial technology to recommend improvements.
- Work with audit to ensure compliance with all company Sox controls.
- Stay up to date with latest best practices in the market place for financial systems and Cloud ERP systems
- Understand of how finance and accounting link to financial systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, information systems, or a related field;
- 18+ years of experience in finance or financial systems management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and compliance requirements.
- Proven experience with financial software systems (e.g., ERP systems).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Skills
- Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.
- Experience with system implementation and optimization.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments to achieve organizational objectives.
- Knowledge of Workday financials and EPM applications preferrable.
- Mastery of communication skills and styles, both written and verbal. Demonstrated ability to effectively present information to internal and external associates.
- Proven ability to lead and organize multi-disciplinary projects and initiatives in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented business environment with broad impact.
- Demonstrated ability to lead strategy behind mentoring and coaching for team(s) and to act as leadership advisor to lower-level management.
- Demonstrated ability to champion significant projects, programs, and business initiatives using creativity and ingenuity.
- Demonstrate experience of strong focus on innovation and particularly financial system automation
- Ability to get buy-in from cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects
The base salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000 USD, plus incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on work location, qualifications, skills, education, experience, and competencies. Benefits available to eligible employees in this role include medical, dental, and vision insurance, comprehensive employee assistance program, 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off and holidays and paid learning days.
