Key Responsibilities
Windows Server & Datacenter Infrastructure
Design, deploy, and administer Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) environments in highly available datacenters.
Manage Active Directory (AD), DNS, DHCP, Group Policies (GPO), and Certificate Services (PKI).
Ensure server hardening, patching, monitoring, and compliance with security policies.
Support hybrid/cloud integrations and readiness projects (Azure AD, M365, etc. where applicable).
Virtualization & Compute
Manage VMware vSphere/ESXi clusters, vCenter, and virtualized workloads.
Support capacity planning and performance tuning of virtual environments.
Troubleshoot and optimize compute resources in multi-tenant and isolated environments.
Enterprise Storage & Backup
Administration and optimization of NetApp, Dell PowerStore, and/or other enterprise storage arrays.
Manage SAN/NAS infrastructure, storage provisioning, and data replication.
Collaborate with backup teams on data protection strategies and recovery planning.
3-Tier Architecture & Application Support
Ensure stable backend infrastructure for 3-tier applications (Web, App, DB).
Collaborate with database, middleware, and application teams to optimize performance and availability.
Participate in capacity planning, upgrades, and migrations of enterprise platforms.
Automation & Scripting
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and desired state configuration where applicable.
Identify opportunities to streamline and standardize operational processes.
Projects & Support
Lead or participate in infrastructure projects, including hardware refresh, datacenter migrations, and virtualization improvements.
Provide 3rd-level support for complex technical issues impacting server, virtualization, or storage environments.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and configuration baselines.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
7+ years of hands-on experience managing Windows Server environments in large-scale enterprise or datacenter settings.
Business fluency in English and French
Strong expertise in Windows Server roles (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, PKI, IIS, File & Print Services).
5+ years of VMware vSphere/ESXi administration (multi-cluster, DRS, HA, vMotion).
Experience with enterprise storage (NetApp, PowerStore, SAN/NAS, data replication).
Excellent PowerShell scripting and automation skills (Desired State Configuration is a plus).
Solid understanding of 3-tier architectures and backend system dependencies.
Experience with monitoring and performance tuning (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds, vROps).
Experience with disaster recovery, backup/restore, and business continuity planning.
Knowledge of networking basics related to server and storage (VLANs, iSCSI, NFS, SMB).
Preferred Qualifications
VMware certifications (VCP-DCV or higher).
Microsoft certifications (MCSA/MCSE, Azure Administrator/Architect).
Familiarity with security hardening and compliance frameworks (ISO, NIST, CIS).
Exposure to containerization platforms (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
