Senior Azure Backup & Storage Engineer -Azure Local CSA (M/F/D)

We are looking for a Senior Azure Backup & Storage Engineer with strong, hands-on expertise in Azure Backup and Azure Storage at an advanced level (300–400). This role focuses on designing, implementing, and operating secure, scalable backup and storage solutions for hybrid environments.

You will play a key role in ensuring data protection, resiliency, and recovery across cloud and on-premises workloads.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement backup strategies for Azure and hybrid workloads (Azure VMs, on-premises servers)

• Configure and manage Azure Backup vaults, policies (schedule, retention), and restore procedures

• Monitor backup operations, troubleshoot failures, and execute recovery scenarios (file, VM, application-consistent restores)

• Design and manage Azure Storage solutions, including:

  • Storage accounts (Blob, File)

  • Redundancy and performance optimization

  • Lifecycle management and archival strategies

• Implement security and networking controls:

  • RBAC and access control

  • Shared Access Signatures (SAS) / Managed Identities

  • Encryption and private endpoints

• Integrate Azure Storage with backup and hybrid workloads

• Support Azure Update Manager for patching and compliance across hybrid machines

• Understand VM dependencies related to backup, restore, and availability.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with:

  • Azure Backup (design, implementation, troubleshooting)

  • Azure Storage (accounts, services, redundancy, lifecycle)

• Experience supporting hybrid environments (Azure + on-prem)

• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server (2012 R2 – 2025)

• Solid experience with virtualization technologies:

  • Hyper-V

  • VMware

  • Azure Stack HCI / Azure Local (basic to intermediate acceptable)

• Experience with System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM)

• Strong troubleshooting skills across backup, storage, and recovery scenarios.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI) concepts (SDN, S2D, Network ATC)

• Exposure to Azure Arc (onboarding, policies, extensions)

• Knowledge of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)

• Experience working with hybrid identity and governance models
