Title: Sr API Backend Developer
Location: Seattle, WA/Remote
In this role you will be building a platform to consolidate business logic across frontline and self-service tools, aimed at delivering a standardized experience across all channels, brands, and lines of business. We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Software Engineer with a strong emphasis on testing to drive our Behavior Driven Development efforts. The ideal candidate will excel in a collaborative environment that values mob programming, and will play a pivotal role in our engineering team’s day-to-day operations.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and maintain backend applications primarily using Java and Python.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and develop solutions that align with business objectives.
• Develop and automate credible test strategies using Behavior Driven Development principles and Gherkin syntax.
• Write scripts for various testing needs, including data mocking and backend logic.
• Conduct thorough security testing using tools like OWASP ZAP and participate in Application Security Testing (AST).
• Integrate automation testing with CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth deployment through GitLab.
• Mentor team members on best practices in testing automation, software development, and collaborative coding.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven proficiency in Java and Python programming languages.
• Extensive experience with automation testing frameworks such as JMeter, Locust, Selenium, and Cucumber.
• Knowledge of vulnerability scanning and security testing principles, with experience in OWASP ZAP.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD practices, particularly within GitLab.
• Strong version control skills using Git and understanding of Infra-as-Code concepts with Terraform.
• Demonstrated experience with RESTful APIs performance testing and reading sequence diagrams and OpenAPI specifications.
The base salary range for this position is $92,250 - $144,964, plus incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on work location, qualifications, skills, education, experience, and competencies.
